Thread: Before my first hone .. please tell me.

Hello my friends

I noticed about my razor blade did not cut a hair test as easily as was.

so do I have need to hone?

or good and long strop is enough ?

if i need to hone, i have now the new norton 4000/8000 stone.

can I use it immediately sprayed with a little water?

or do I have soaked in water for a long time before use?

If it s norton 4/8 you should soak it for at least 15 minutes before you use it. It should be flattened (lapped before the initial use and intermittently following that as needed)

What hair are you trying to cut ? If it is a hanging hair test that you are talking about failure to cut a hanging hair does not mean it is not shave ready. If it won't shave hair on your arm it probably needs attention. Have you tried shaving your face with the razor ? BeBerlin is absolutely right in that you should do some reading in the SRP Wiki, videos etcetera. Feel free to ask questions if you cannot find an answer there but do try to do the homework.

JimmyHAD : Yes,after your answer , i tried it on my arm .. it was sharp and cut easily.

also last night i shaving my chin by it and everything is okay
