Thread: Higher grit hones

I am a big fan of the Super stone 12K
however the C12K is a good stone and
can maintain an edge when used with
a smooth gentle hand.
It is finer and slower than almost all barber hones
and if used like a barber hone with 20 not six laps
once a week I think the OP will find that his razor's
edge improves a lot with some time.
Honing and restoring a razor and maintaining a good
shaver are different enough activities that the
tool set will differ. A C12K is a fine hone for
maintaining a shaver razor. It is IMO too slow
for a busy professional honemaster.
How does that song go: "Love the one you'r with"
applies here.
