Why? What is your basis for this? It can be lapped with a diamond plate but it does not have to be.

Did you lap the 5k and 8k? I think that may be part of the problem.

YES I DID!! i use340 W?D grit. Then 600. did the whole grid thing twice like on the wiki. made sure i didn't cross-contamenate the grits and hones.. used a complete flat surface... Originally Posted by jeffegg2
