Default Chinese Water Stones from Poland?

Has anyone tried the smallish Chinese water stones rated at approx 12,000 grit, which come with an accompanying slurry stone, available on eBay from Krakow?

Those are the same as the "C12k" that you'll see referenced around the forum. They can be bought on ebay, or also from Woodcraft's website or retail stores (Natural Polishing Water Stone - Woodcraft.com). As I recall, the ones on ebay come lapped, so that is a plus. The only potential drawback is the shipping cost/time (depending on where you are located).

Many thanks, sir, I wouldn't have wanted to ruin a brand spanking new razor on a catchpenny stone.

Just a note if you've not been shaving before you joined:
    a) When you start, honing is best left to professionals. Stones are expensive, generally you need several (12k is for finish and upkeep, not honing dull to shave ready) , it takes skill and experience and you really have to know how to recognize and use a sharp blade. People offer honing in the classifieds and their personal websites. Or buy a shave ready blade from a reputable company (see ads here) or the classifieds. Don't get hung about HHT - only shave test matters.
    b) Stay off the ebay until you know what to look for in a razor (faults, damage etc) unless you personally know who'se selling those razors/strops/rocks/etc. Give it half a year or so, and read the ebay threads
    c) Read the the wiki too. Links below.
