    Default Rapid onslaught of HAD

It's been a very busy few weeks, notable for its frantic phonecalls and wildly impulsive, but perfectly reasonable decisions. And while I promise to post the photos of what I consider excellent acquisitions, I'm not in possession of all my rocks (both literally and figuratively.)

So, from having a only a single Coticule, I've picked up a Cotcarb (for the kitchen), a 1880's vintage Tam O'Shanter in an old Smith box, a Dragon's Tongue on order from Inigo, a Charnley Forest from a very nice woodworker, and an old English Aloxite barber's hone. I've recently relocated from the US to the UK, and am focusing mostly on UK items, razors included.

Restoring and maintaining the dozen or so razors I have should become a great deal more interesting.

    Nice scores!

I particularly like my Charnley Forest, its a really great finisher. Has your CF been used with oil?

I was lukcy and mine hadnt been oiled, but JimmyHAD gave me a good tip: Put a drop or two of dish soap on the hone before use. It gives the same feedback as oil, but you can wash it right off when you're done honing! Thats what I do on mine and it works really well..!

That way you can swap between water and "oil" as you like!

    Hope you enjoy 'em!
