    Default Two line Swaty

What is the difference between a two line and a three line Swaty? (Other than the extra line of text)

This thread has some good info in there...

But IMHO nothing, I think people confuse the three lines of text with the actual "Three Line" Swaty which is stamped with those words "Three Line" I think those are a slicker finisher...

That's my story and I'm sticking to it..

I've had Swatys with two lines of text and Swaty's with three lines of text. My experience led me to believe the ones with three lins were a bit finer. But maybe it was just my honing, or the razors, or how I felt that day, or the phase of the moon, or.... or....

While I would expect that two Swaty's from the same batch (would likely have the same exact text) would be nearly identical, it wouldn't surprise me if small changes to the forumla or even just variations from batch to batch yielded slightly different results when honing. But is there really any objective way to test that / could such a test be well carried out? I don't know.

If you could find someone who would know what they are looking at you could take and grind some bits up off a variety of two line, three line, and also the long Swatys. Just a number of them and see if they are different under high magnification. I also wonder if they were different batch to batch and even within a batch ? I've never had a two line, just the three lines of text in long and standard length. All good.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Don't forget possible variations between Franc Swaty and Franz Swaty. Correct me if I'm wrong but ive been led to believe they are the same, just different alaphabets replacing "z" with "c". But as I have one of each one was made in Yugoslovia the other, in Austria both have three lines of text. That means there was at least two different factories which I'm sure could lead to some differences in grit. I'm new to this so I could be wrong just adding my thoughts.
