Thanked: 39Here’s the 2 dollar Thurighan.
It is dished out about 3/8 of an inch at the center. But the under side was perfect and flat. Lapped it a bit, beveled the edges and put a razor to it. It quickly produces milky slurry with 3-4 swipes of a DMT 325, and a fine finish on a razor.
The photos do not depict the color well but is very green when wet and charcoal grey dry. It was glued to the box with a layer of black sticky oil & swarf I have some original photos somewhere.
It was a great find. I have another that I suspect is also a thurigan that is broken in half about five inches long, clearly broken on one end not cut. It is soaking now but will post some photos later. It is dark grey with molted brown blotches. I haven’t tried to hone on it yet. It was in a custom box also. It was 50 cents.
Happy Hunting
Marty

White end:
Translucent end:
Hope that helps.
