Can any one help me to find out what kind of / name is of this hone?
I is dark brown , makes yellow slurry, hard stone , about 12 K grid.

Thanked: 202Is it after it was lapped and cleaned? Otherwise the colour could be mixture of old oil and muck.

after it was lapped and cleaned. The pic shows some blue into it but it is moltly dark brown and some redish spots.

never knew that thuringian can be brownish but it might be . It cuts well but the finish is not as good as Escher. Came from Eastern Europe as well so.........

Try use with oil without slurry and see what happens . gl

Franconian hones are brownish. Is the color in the photo accurate to what you're seeing in person ? If you haven't lapped the hone do so and let it dry. Take a close up of the hone half wet, half dry in natural sunlight and post that. The photo you posted has it looking almost black on my monitor.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
