Thread: Nakayama Honyama Habutae

Here is my new hone just wonder if any one is using Nakayama Habutae ?

There is not much info about Habuate so all your opinions are very welcome.

I have tested one for a few weeks but unfortunately out of my price range.
Habutae is merely a reference to colour. They are found in the Namito layer,next door neighbours to Asagi so usually a good finisher or pre finisher if you work that way

This looks more like Kiita, unless the pic does not show the right color.
You got a great deal there because I have been told those uniform stones are kind of rare and expensive. Hope this works for razors.

Yes I am confuse about the color as well , will have to wait and see. The stone should in by the end of the week. BTW I have orderd Tomo Nagura as Well and called it as Kita ,color wise. I have posted those pics so may be some one could translate for me (us) what the stone said by it self. ( Kanji)

My opinion is that it should be mine.
That is a pretty stone.

That's a beefy J-nat, must of cost a pretty penny....

Good point on the colour Stefan but the chiselled base shows the creamy Habutae colour. Maybe it is the fault of the pic as you say
