Default lapping a finishing hone, cross contaminiation?

I have a finishing stone that needs some flattening.

I have 400 grit sandpaper, but I wonder whether the
grit will get stuck in the finishing stone.

I also have a diamond hone that is isn't flat(concave).
I think the 400 on glass is better, but I am concerned
about the grit getting stuck in the hone.

    What do you think?

The contamination risk is minimal, and goes to near zero if you flood the stone with water while you're lapping (and after, of course).
