Thanked: 35lapping a finishing hone, cross contaminiation?
I have a finishing stone that needs some flattening.
I have 400 grit sandpaper, but I wonder whether the
grit will get stuck in the finishing stone.
I also have a diamond hone that is isn't flat(concave).
I think the 400 on glass is better, but I am concerned
about the grit getting stuck in the hone.
What do you think?

Thanked: 25The contamination risk is minimal, and goes to near zero if you flood the stone with water while you're lapping (and after, of course).
