Possibly a frown but I think worse is a few burrs at the level of the centre of the etching. So you need to reset the bevel with a coarser hone if I interpreted the pics right.

Would a norton 4k/8k do the trick or is a lower grit level required ?

I could have over done it a little on the 12k, but you live and learn i guess.

Hard to make any conclusions from the pics but it looks like the bevels not set or the edge is rough or something. It shouldn't have distinct shiny & dull bits like that.
It may be the light but the heel looks kinda ok.

had a think and I'd do one of two things
1, Send it out for honing and when it starts to pull again just give it a couple light srtokes on the 12k and see how you go.
2, send it out for honing but get the honer to just set the bevel and you can polish out the edge with the 4/8k and a couple turns on the 12k.
    just my 2cents
    good luck

better will be choose 1 st option.
pictures are tough to analyze. in my first thought i think top of the blade is duller then rest of the blade.
Again this is just from pics.

With one razor I was touching up, I was very light on the 12k and only gave it 10 strokes then had a shave. The results weren't the best so I went back and gave it another 15 and the shave was great! Whether it was my honing technique, or the razor metal, it just needed a few more to get to where I wanted it.

With other razors that have lost their edge slightly, I've just gone back to my 8k with say 10-15 laps, then the 12k for 10-15 laps and a strop. Likely not necessary every time, but I'm still learning my hones and other razors so sometimes it's easier to go back a stone for a few and move up again.

I like to have a pro honed razor around to compare against when I hone to see where I'm at. Obviously these means a few razors and another stone but I think with a 4/8k and 12k you would be set for a long time unless you have the need to bevel set a razor perhaps
