    Default SS vs choser 1000vs1000/12000vs1000

I am interested in your opinions on these stones.

I sharpen my plane blades on SS. I have 800,3000
    and 8000SS.

I find the 800 too gritty, muddy. Really a poor stone.
The 3000 is nice, but too soft(A2,HSS steel). Keep digging
    in the stone.

The 8000 is a bit harder, but still a bit too soft.

I also have a hard okudo nashiji.

    I am thinking of buying a 1000 grit stone. I haven't used
the 1000 SS or chosera. I would like your opinion on these.
I am guessing the chosera 1000 is a harder stone and probably
    better suited for me.

I don't need the 12000SS or the 10000 chosera and won't buy them,
but I am interested in what you guys think about these stones. What
do you think is their true grit? How hard are the stone compared
to each other. What is the feel of the stones? How does the 12000SS
compared to the 8000 in terms of feeling, hardness.

I think I will end up using a 1000 chosera and directly jumping
to the fine and hard okudo nashiji. I might need an intermediate
    stone.

    Thank you.

The Chosera 1k is definitely harder than the SS 1k. The Choseras feel very different from the SS's; I don't know how do describe it except that the SS's don't feel like "rocks" to me, but the Choseras do.

I have only used a few Choseras - I think 400, 800, 1k and 2k, and they are all similar to each other. All the SS's I've used (1k, 3k, 5k, 8k, and 12k) feel similar to each other.

I think it's cause the SS uses different binders than the Chosera.
