Thanked: 1Duro Hone
I picked up a Duro two sided hone and am wondering if anyone is familiar with it. One side is red and one is gray but I can't tell which is the more agressive side. It says on the box that it is for a razor, anyone know what it is worth? Thanks

About $1.98 if I'm not mistaken ..... kidding aside, we don't do value appraisals here as it is against the rules. Looks to be a good barber hone though. If your razor begins to fall off in sharpness giving it a few light strokes on the dry hone is what those are usually used for. Most of them were good regardless of mfg but some are better than others. I'm not familiar with the brand but someone will be along who may be.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

And, while we're at it.............
I"m not interested in the value of it, but I am interested in just how good some of you chaps think the 'Raven' hone was/is?????? And even wondering about this other fellows hone while we're giveing opinions.
I personelly find the Raven to be very high in grit #'s, smooths and polish's like a 16k would, IMHO, what do you'all think?
As ever and most sincerely, tinkersd of SRP

Here is a very large archived thread on barber hones with a lot of info on different brands according to their owners. Don't know if the Raven or Duro are represented but there are many many of them.
