AFAIK, any layer can be a combo (hybrid). I have a La Veinette that is backed w BBW.

From the picture early in this thread it looks like a natural hybrid combo. I do not want or need bbw. just hope hybrid turns out to be serviceable.

A "hybrid" layer does not refer to a natural combination Coticule/BBW hone. A hybrid layer is different. To my knowledge, only the Les Latneuses vein produces natural combination stones that are Coticule/Hybrid hones.

Thanks for all the info about the Les Latneuses hybrids. I was trying to get one but they are a hot item. Maurice is awesome! Tho he never sent a picture of the hybrid side as requested. First I heard of a hybrid from any other layers than Les Latneuses. guess I will be the lab rat on this one.
