    Default Colonel Conk 1000 grit

    Hello everyone,

There was a colonel conk 1000 grit (allegedly) hone as part of the gift my brother got me for Christmas.

Can anyone confirm that it is indeed 1000 grit (it seems very smooth) and also give me an idea on how to prepare the stone for honing.

    thanks,
    Stultsy

no it will way higher then 1k. it is novoculate stone and their grit does not match regular stones grit.
your stone will be -5-7 k level.
    hope this helps.

I'm glad that it is not actually 1000 grit! I thought I was going crazy since it was such a smooth stone.

Given that I have a norton 4/8 is there any place for such a stone in my honing arsenal?

    Thanks for the responses,
    Stultsy
