It's not a Coticule. The Belgian style has been copied for coarser synthetic hones. I assume in an attempt to benefit from their popularity.

I've never seen or heard of stone that is so soft that you can generate slurry with the fingers. No idea what it is.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

From the pics it looks good to me, I see a natural blue/yellow combo. Are you raising a slurry with your fingertips or just stirring the dirt on it into mud? From the pics it does not appear clean or lapped on the yellow side.

I've noticed that this stone does not like too much water.
I lapped this stone under running water and it become even softer.
I can raise slurry (not very thick) by rubbing it with my fingers and easily scratch the surface with my finger nail. When i use a DMT for creating slurry it is thick and creamy.Maciek.

Some coticles are softer than others, you may have one of them, the softer ones are usually the creamy colored ones with little visible grain on the surface or the appearance of garnet. They are natural stones given to us by the earth and therefore not subject to our ideas on quality control.
