Thanked: 0I was more talking about the stones themselves. The prep work when you get a brand new one. How to check the level/ set a level stone & restore them if needed. When I slide my blade I can feel the slight undulations in the stone. Does this even matter?

Thanked: 1263On the 4k side of the Norton you'll have to lap off a quite a bit to get it to the smooth point for proper honing..it's been discussed in a couple of threads..it's a norton thing. Once you get there though they work great.
