Thanked: 2Sorry guys to whoever PM'ed me to ship the stone as I dont want to do something that turns out to be useless therefore I cannot live with that guilt.
I tell you what next time I go to the store I would definitely buy the stone regardless of how it turns out, and put some pictures and probably write a first hand experience. Maybe it would turn out good or bad, and it will also depend on my technique which sucks. In the mean time I know there are some other people also living in Vancouver who can chip in there 2 cents to let us know if the stone is really good or not.
Those who are interested the place name is Tinland Cookware, and its located on east pender street in Chinatown, downtown vancouver. (parking is very hard and you need to pay cash.)

Sounds like these stores we used to have in NYC. We used to call them schlock stores. They would sell all manner of things for unbelievable prices with incredible claims. On very rare occasions you could find a real deal but usually they sold junk.

I live in Vancouver, so I'll go pick one up and check it out. Not much to lose!

PIcs would be nice...and if there are money problems, I might have a solution. Nineteen of them, in fact.

Thanked: 2Yeah. If somebody can do a review on this that would be great. I came across similar thread on this forum and they describe similar unknown stone and estimates it to be around 15000 grit stone. Not sure if we are talking about the same thing here.
