    i suggested the c-12 because it removes metal slowly and i think you'll get a better feel for the hone then a barber hone but then again thats what a barber hone was invented for i would still go for the c-12 imho

    Actually, if you continue to use the barber hone, you should not need to ever "re-sharpen" in any other way.
