    Default Natural stone ID

    Hi, I am a new member and have some natural stones I have collected over years and would like to see if I can get them Identified. I am going to list what I think they might be.
    1) Belgium Blue
    2) Soft Arkansas?
    3) Belgium Coticule
    4) Hard Arkansas?
    5) Soft Arkansas?
    6) Escher or Thuringian
    7) Translucent Arkansas?

    yes they all look about right as you discribed them the hard ark #4 i have never seen an ark stone cut in such an odd shape and #6 it looks more like a thuringian and #7 is a translucent but its not a super fine translucent

    See if somebody is near you that knows stones, Smell, and Slurry, along with Feel, Density and Scratch pattern "Identifies" stones...

    The perfect example is the first stone it could be Slate or BBW from the pic but 2 seconds with a DMT 325 would tell me exactly what it is...

    Looking closer #4 stone appears to be hand cut. It seems hard but yet it produces a light gray slurry. If you hold it at an angle into the light and sight down the surface, it looks like glass. Also, looking on the side you can see the layers of stone. Under magnification side by side next to my yellow coticule they look identical except it is a light gray.

    Stone #1 produces a reddish brown slurry with a 325 dmt
