Default A shout-out for barber hones!!

Last night i had the worst shave in a long time,my faux frameback F.Reynolds was spent! I finished the 2 pass shave anyway,it was so bad that i was going to grab another razor, but i toughed it out ,OUCH !!Then i remembered a thread that UTOPIAN wrote, and said he maintained some razors with just a barbers hone. So being a lazy sac and not wanting to drag out all the nani hones,i grabbed my Late Grandfathers barbers hone (#200 Aloxite razor hone ) put some lather on it and gave the Reynolds and old fashion touch up ( 10 strokes). I have never used that hone since i got it!!! So tonite was the test,35 linen 100 leather,Iam Impressed !!!! For only 10 strokes iam back in business and also got a feeling what a shave would have felt like in the 1920's. I think i will be using that stone alot more!! Thanks to everyone that put up threads on Barber hones.

All i have is my Laudys barber hone it it has been doign good so far, ive touched it up once, but i think before long i want to have it honed up fully, because it seems the when i cut thicker hair(my uncles one friend has had me trim around his gotee on a few friday nights wink wink) it dosent cut as cleanly, and i think that when my hair comes in thicker i will have issues, but as far as a touchup hone the barber hone is the greates tool ever.(ive even went as far as using it on my fillet knife a few times,

Ron and I have been pushing barber hones for a couple of years now, it is the first hone anyone should buy and now you know why!
