I was thinking at it would be great if there was a wiki that contained information on the most common synthetic stones. That way we could have a place to go when we needed info on a particular stone. It could contain info like what kind of materials it is made up of, how long it needs to soak for, can if be perma soaked, how hard is it, stuff like that. An entry might look like this:

Bester 1200
Binder: Ceramic Matrix
Soak: Yes, takes several hours
Can be perma-soaked: Yes
Hardness(1-5): 4.5

Bester 500
Binder: Ceramic Matrix
Soak: Yes, takes several hours
Can be perma-soaked: Yes
Hardness(1-5): 4.5

Kitayama 8k
Binder: Natural Clays
Soak: yes but not required, can splash and go
Can be perma-soaked: No
Hardness(1-5): 3

Synthetic Aoto
Soak: yes, at least 15 mintues
Can be perma-soaked: Yes
Hardness(1-5): 1

Then of course there would be debate about things like hardness but I'm sure we could come to a conclusion and it would give people an idea of what the stone was like. If someone was thinking about buying a 5k naniwa ss they could look it up and see how hard it is, how long does it need to soak for, that kind of thing. Some people don't want a stone that needs to soak for a long time, other people want stones that can be perma-soaked ect. Let me know what you guys think. If everyone did a couple entries we could probably cover most of the common stones like naniwa ss, chosera, norton, bester, ect.
