    Default Just wondering?

I was reading a post on another site about the different Naniwa stones. Is there an advantage to using both the 3K and the 5K in the same progression? I thought I have read, could be wrong, that the two could be interchanged. Would it be considered redundant to use both?

Another question: Is there any advantage to use the 8K Naniwa after the 8K Norton? Not that I have plans on such a progression but have read, on another site, that the difference between the two is great enough that there is a definite benefit to doing so.

Sorry about the information you get elsewhere, but there is a lot of personal preference out there and many times from people with little experience and a lot of posts.

I normally will use either a 3K or a 5K Naniwa SS before going to the 8K. Some use both in progression, but there is really no need in my opinion. The results off the Naniwa SS 8K and the Norton 8K are actually quite similar. There is no reason to go to the Norton after the Naniwa. I normally use one or the other.

    Have fun,

    Lynn

+1 to what Lynn said. Some people have an amazing talent for speaking at length about things they know little or nothing about.
