    Default Renge Suita hideriyama

So I just got this beauty and I must say, I LOOOOOVE RENGE STONES! I once posted about how beautiful and versatile these stones are but DAMN! this one is a real keeper. It is soft, super smooth and just leaves a killer edge I don't think I have used another stone that leaves an edge this sharp and rate it at about 40k if not more. Whats really impressive about this stone is its ability to make huge jumps when paired with a thick slurry.

Supposedly the renge (dark red spots, in this case purplish red BTW) are what give these stones its speed, the slurry on it is bubblegum pink and boy is it fast! It was bought from Ken if you follow knife forums and I highly recommend you buy stones from him, the guy likes to please what can I say. Any question and whatnots are welcome. Heres some hone pron for ya guys!

My stone has urushi on the sides and the bottom is pretty new I think so it doesn't have much of a skin anyway here is a pic of the bottom the sides are just brown with urushi.

    Very nice looking stone.
As beautiful as suitas are, one thing about I do not like is they can get contamination in the su from other grits.
Did you get that from Ken?

Yup. this suita however has no su so no contamination is possible... or maybe it does have... IDK ILL check anyway the stone performs incredibly well. I can't believe how much renge this baby has, I have had renges before but never one that gives a bubble gum pink slurry from so much renge and the feeling is just amazing. Its like really fine chalk feeling or something like that. I am truly impressed with this baby, I highly suggest you guys try one some day.

True about the "su" holding rogue grit but with some care about not transfering odd particles and/or a lap with a diamond nagura every once in a while and the sheer cutting speed of some of these stones can be well worth it. Many of these suita stones can be used with just clear water and they will kick up a little mud on their own without too much effort. Alx

So been messing around with this stone and theres two words: BAD ASS! fast and furious leaves a wonderful edge and theres something about the pink slurry like bubblegum pink that makes the stone sexy.

Very beautiful stone. Can you give me details of the place where you bought it?
