    Default Hone ID?

So, I picked this hone up today from an antique/flea market vendor. He said it was for razors, and it looks to be the right size. It feels quite fine, although it needs to be cleaned, lapped, and has a dip toward one end. Anyway, any ideas what it is?

    Any assistance would be appreciated!

It's a carborundum synthetic stone and probably isn't something I would take a razor to. Probably better suited for chisels.

Welp, that sounds about right. I washed it with dish soap, and lapped it a bit. It appears much less fine than I originally thought. Oh well, I'm glad it was only $5

I have acquired many of these type of hones in eBay lots. Yours is good for sharpening tools, but not to put a fine edge on a blade.

It's not a razor hone, and though it doesn't matter, I don't think its a carborundum either. It's just a plain old silicone carbide hone.
    Keep hunting!
