    Default I won an escher!

To be honest, I forgot all about this hone. I set an auto bid the other night and ended up winning it. What do you guys think? I figured most eschers were going over $300 so I set it a few bucks over. I wasn't expecting to win it.

After searching other threads...I see that the dark blue eschers starting model. Anyone have any info? I'll provide more info after I receive it.

Should be a good one. I only have a dark blue and it gives a great edge.

Thanks...that's reassuring. I don't see much posted about the dark blue stones. It seems the yellow/green are the top of the line eschers. Plus sham giving it a thumbs up always helps.

Also, So how do I go about finding a proper slurry stone? I don't want to cut a piece of the stone off.

Thanks. I was actually looking at a y/g one in the buy it now section that was 400 plus. Is there that much difference between the y/g and the dark blue? Is the y/g worth $175 more? I know this is a very subjective question considering not all natural stones are the same. Then there is size, condition, etc.

Sham is the one to talk to about eschers, he's probably got more than most of us have seen, cares for them like they were his children and knows them better than anyone I know.

I've used and owned both Dark blue and YG Eschers, IMO the YG is the best as to what I've seen it leaves the best edge in a faster amount of time. Dark Blue Escher leaves an amazing edge too but it needs more care and laps to get it right. The soft YG just feels completely different to the stroke than the Dark blue and they cut differently but they're both Eschers and wonderful.

    have fun with em!
