PIERRE LA LUNE
This is really a verry nice stone whitch gives a top edge
Here is one in it´s original french wooden box.
One the side it says "to be used with oil or water"
Personally prefer to use almost all my stones with water.

If used with water after a 6000 cerax stone i find this stone sharpens equaly fast,
while giving an edge that is just a little bit finer than my coticule
and on par with my tigerstripe coticule.
Nevertheless in my experience the edge can be improved by my vintage Thüringians and my CF stones.
As always it also depends much on your personal technique
As this stone can also be used with oil this may improve the edge further as some members report.
Personally I have not tried to use it with oil by now.
Some stones that i use, Picture from left to right:
Coticule, La Lune, Thüringian, CF, Tigerstripe

Would this be one as well? Looks like the stone is layered and sawmarks are at an almost identical angle to the layers as on the 2nd picture of the opening post.

What's a la lune? Is it a finisher? What is it comparable to?
