Anyone worked out the Dargons Tongue?
Last night I returned to my Dragons Tongue while honing a Gold Dollar. I used it after a Coti and slurry and it quickly improved the edge. I chickened out and finished on the Coti + water, but now wish I'd carried on.
While honing the stone appeared to be releasing abrasive particles which I suspect would have rounded the edge if allowed to build up and it did appear to be cutting quickly. Previously I found that it would dull the edge from a 6K synthetic but I was using a thickish slurry at the time.
Has anyone else percervered with a DT and if so how do you use it?Regards
Nic

I'd be willing to persevere with a Dragon's Tongue, but I don't think I've got one. I'm not even sure what a Dragon's Tongue is.

This week I received a mystery stone. The scratch pattern looked coarser than those made by a Coticule so I took out my DT for comparison. The result was pretty close. The DT is a nice stone if you're looking for a natural around 8k. I didn't notice any autoslurry after doing 60 strokes, maybe with another razor?

Thanked: 3795I've always wanted to try one of these, though my expectations are low, but the shipping cost being more than the cost of the hone always kept me from it. I can't even go in with someone else on the shipping because they don't give any break on it. If you order one hone for $11.26, the shipping is $13. If you order 10 hones for $112.60, the shipping is $130!
