Slurry stone choice?
I just bought a Norton 4k/8k and am considering getting a Naniwa 12k. What should I get for a slurry stone? Do I even need one? Will the Norton prep stone be appropriate for all three grits?

Thanked: 3795None of these hones need a slurry stone. The prep stone is intended to refresh the honing surface, not to serve as a slurry stone. If you want slurry, then get a diamond plate, as it will serve double duty to lap/refresh your hones and to provide slurry when desired.

Thanked: 3795I have edited my post. YES, I meant refresh the "hone" or the "honing surface," NOT refresh the edge. Sometimes my typing goes on autopilot and certain phrases just come out. Thank you for catching my stupid error.
Along those lines, I have noticed that I have become incapable of typing "home." For some reason, on the first try it always comes out "hone!"
