Great score! This barber sounds like a stand-up fellow.

Great score. If I were you, I would have a new regular barber.

    Nice,,,, play with the hone
as it is before you wash half of
it down the drain trying to get it
    flat.

Some folk love the micro-bevel that
a much loved finishing hone gives a
razor. You can also old school flatten
the hone by using selected regions
of the hone preferential to other regions.

You may find that the old Clauss razor
and the hone work well together.

You can always lap the hone flat....

Firstly to the original link. Too good to be true. The real challenge would be to learn how to use it effectively in present shape as the old barber did.

To Bushdoctor I need to ask. By any chance those big hearths are not made out of something what can be used for honing?
Just in case you or any of your fellow folk would be getting rid of their fireplace can I appeal to your big heart and ask for one smallish sample when you will be cutting it?

Ahh, beat me to it! There's an unusually high concentration of spelling errors in this thread. Makes for fun reading!
