    BBW is a natural too, and coarser than the coticule side
    hihi, how sweet a misunderstanding.
    Of course the BBW and Coticule are both naturals. I think what he referred to was his Coticule slurry stone is actually a natural combination stone of a Coticule and a BBW.
    In short his slurry stone is a natural.

    The difference in grit with BBW and Coticule is actually really, really small.
    I doubt somebody could actually feel a difference and I propose that
    in an experiment the variance produced within the test subjects of the same finishing stone (different sharpening techniques etc.) will easily overpower the occurring variances produced by differences between the two finishing stones.

    In short: the natural variation produced by technique and slight differences in the edge and skin condition will be greater
    than the actual differences between a Coticule and BBW finished edge. I believe Bart had a small research team working on something like that.
    They applied a type of analysis of variance and I believe they came to the same conclusion.

    @the flaking J-Nat:
    Maybe you should post a picture of the spot. Typically these flakes, as long as they canīt be felt do not diminish the edge of a razor.
    I donīt think itīs something to worry about
