Thanked: 1Blue/Green Thuri?
It's been a while since my last post, but since then I aquired an interesting stone. It measures 6 inches by 2 1/4 inches, by 3/4 thick. It also has a slurry stone the same width. The stone has two layers, one is an olive green and the other side a dark gray almost black. At first I thought it was something like a coticule with a slate back, but it's obviously been used to sharpen on both sides and the slurry stone has a thin layer of the darker stone on it as well.
I'm getting a diamond hone to lap it and will try it out this week end. Any thoughts or opinions are welcome.
Best regards,
Andrew

I have one just like it in the original box. A thoroughly kick butt stone! Enjoy it!

Very nice stone you found. You won't need a diamond hone to lap it, Thuringians are relatively soft, waterproof sanding paper of various grit will do.

You have found a wonderful finishing stone. Use it after your edge has been set to the maximum sharpness to get the best results from this hone.
