Thread: special leather for honing?

Leather is used for stropping, not for honing. Unless you are referring to applying some kind of abrasive compound to the leather so it is used as a hone.

Either way, I think we will need more information on the type of leather you would like to use, as well as directing your questions in the Strops forum.

You strop with leather, not hone. Buy a pre-made strop of decent quality, you'll thank me later.
