    Default Mustard or Mayo

In the universal quest for finding the best hone
in the world I gave the Naniwa Snow White 8k
    hone a test drive.

    The web site description reads:
"The Junpaku 8.000 stone (also nick
named the snow white stone) is pure white magnesia
bond 8.000 hone with good polishing properties. It is
nick named the Snow White stone." Note that the
web site is confusing folk with 8.000 instead of 8,000
or the more common 8K. But a quote is a quote....

As you can see it removes steel with ease.

It is a bit harder than the Norton 8K (mustard slurry)
and may cut a little bit faster. When I say harder
I am saying it is harder a lot like the Chosera 10K
hone. A couple shaves off this 8k and a Norton 8k seem
    to be nearly equal.

It does seem to leave a brighter mirror finish on
a couple of my old blades with lots of hone and
    blade wear.

It is a marvelous hone. I expect that I
will use it to refresh my shavers. My
Norton combo will only be used when I also
    need the 4k side.

Like the Norton I enjoy following it with
a finer finisher to perfect the final edge.
    But that is another discussion.

    I like it a lot.
