Hi Kairen. I only have small nagura for slurry & yes they do like water but I think it was mainaman that has the large nagura. Maybe he can make a suggestion. I think sword polishers wet them as needed when polishing.
I still have a while to go before i can officially say "i have HAD" but i am trying to get there :DQuote:

And i received my Karasu today (earlier then expected) so here are some photos continuing from the post mentioning the order a few days ago.
I have lacquered, lapped and tested this awesome stone, its very hard (5+) and very very fine, this is easily in my top 2 (or even top 1) finishing stones!
This really is a nice stone!!!
I originally got into JNats for sharpening kitchen "jknives". This, of course is now shifting towards straight razors.

Okay, I'm finally going to set my coticules aside for a bit and give my new jnat a go. I just got this in from Maksim. It is a Ozuku Nashiji San with some very beautiful Nashiji patterns! Very hard and fine stone. I just finished sealing up the back and sides; I still need to lap it after it cures. This size stone is good for hand-holding honing or just using it on the table.

Two more stones in.
First, a small size Aoto, 200x40x40mm clean no inclusions, very smooth feel, range is ~2-4k. Very fast and great after the bevel set step to go to prepolisher.
Second, Atago Akapin Aoto, this one is very similar to the aoto above, but faster. and the finish is may be more in the 3k range.
This is great stone for knives primarily, but can be used for razors too.
I lacquerred both and because they are soft stones I also reinfosed the sides with washi paper.

Well this is my first plunge into Japanese Natural stones and I have to say that it was so worth it. I got this Ozuku Asagi from Maxim a week ago and have enjoyed learning with it and the edges it provides are excellent. Thank you Maxim.
It was listed as a Lvl5 and I have no doubt it is.

The latest edition is a very nice Nakayama Maruichi Kiita, if my history is correct this stone was mined before Nakayama was owned by Kato Family.
I always wanted a Kitta as pure as I can get, this one is pretty close. Very clean yellow color, very soft stone that still produces very fine edge, never seen anything like that before.
