    That's the right attitude! So, there's a lot to learn. Start by reading all the Wiki entries on hones and honing. Save up for a couple hones (I would recommend the Naniwa 3K and 8K rather than the Nortons, but eveybody has an opinion). You can do it with your guangxi, but it will take hours versus a few minutes.

    The blades were a Gotta 120 Hamburg ring and the other trouble some blade has no maker info on it.It only says Solingen on the shank.Thanks for the reply but I know I need to buy another stone,if only to avoid repetitive strain injury.But hey its all good and I'm having fun.
