Thanked: 202Interesting hone to ID
I have seen this one and had to have it. Texture something between Coti and Arkie.
Size is uneven but about 7x1.5". Obtained in UK from guy who collects old planes.
Any ideas?

Thanked: 3164Looks a lot like a Les Latneuses that I have. Much harder than normal coticules.

I have never seen a hone like it but I sometimes wonder how many different stones they used for hones in the UK.

Thanked: 202To be honest as those pictures are they are originaly from vendor. But I do not expect after I will clean the hone better pictures. It is already flat therefore i will try to degrease it only. From the vendors info it suppose to perform like Hindostan. However I do not have one of those yet to compare on my own. It supposed to be very slov hone for final polish. Again he is plane collector and razor honing is different. First I need to make a box for it to keep it safe.

My thoughts based on its size, looks and the chamfered corners was a coticule or hybrid coticule.
