Default Need some hone advise - Steelex?

So, I've been digging around wanting to pick up some hones to get my Razors the way I'd really want them. And in looking for higher grit hones I ran across a brand called steelex, has anyone ever worked with them? Like em don't like em? They seem to offer what I'm looking for at decent prices.

Amazon.com: Woodstock SteeleX D1130 1000 Grit and 6000 Grit Japanese Waterstone: Home Improvement

One of these? Looks like they come in 1K and 6K grit size. 1K good for setting bevel, 6K pre-final polisher I would say. I never came across someone here that uses them for razors. Worth a try at 36 USD.

This was one I was looking at. I have a hone I picked up for 20 bucks that is a 800, 4000 water stone, I was thinking about picking up something like this.

For the casual user of hones for straight razors a 1000 grit is almost useless. They really need 4000 grit at the lowest and at least 8000 for a high grit.
Yesterday I had the chance to play with a 2K/6K . The 2K was just right to follow a 1K and the 6K fit in nicely between a 4K and a 8K. But....... it was not adequate by itself.

    Hope this helps,

Both the Naniwa & Shapton 8k are cheaper & known performers on razors. My 2ç.

For the price of that Steelx 8000 grit you could get a Norton 4000/8000 combo and then you would have a known proven performer. Don't gt me wrong, the Steelx line of hones may be ok, it is just that we have very little experience with them. The same reasoning holds true for the Chinese natural hones you are referencing.

I may be wrong but that $200 Shapton looks like the M15 which should be the cheapest of their line.
