You are worse than me with your acquisitions!
I believe what you have there is a Schwedenstein from Germany. Some of the guys at the Razorcon in London earlier this year saw one which I have. Oldengarde taught me about them.
They have a variegated structure which is why you will never find a thick example, but only ever a thin slice like you have. It should give off a slurry with a brown tint. It should be relatively fine, like a Thurry in finish.
If I recall, you already have one of these!

Thanked: 18Thank you for your quick response. I have one but is very diferent stone. That one is more uniform one with no incusions, just grey color.
This one is like you can see , green, with some red ot pink. This is look more like a CF but is way softer. So this stone need to be used with water? With slurry or just like a thuringian , for finishing?HAD seson is here.
Regards

If the slurry has a brown/yellow tint to it, then Im 100% sure it is a Schwedenstein.
Examples can look quite different. I have seen streaked ones, blotched ones, and also more plain ones like the one you had first.
I use mine with water, though you could use lather. I wouldn't put oil on it.

Thanked: 3164It looks very similar to one of the many types of covenant stones from Israel, supplied by tc blades:
Similar sort of slurry, too.

I agree with Scipio, although I don't think the slurry has to be brownish. I backed my broken labeled Schwedenstein and used it as a big slurry stone last night and the slurry it made was white/whitish iirc. The slurry worked great, the edge went from slightly serrated to a straight line under a 400x microscope with 20 strokes.
I recently acquired a similar razor hone box with another Schwedenstein. They seem to have a characteristic speckled texture when you take a close-up of the wet surface. I haven't used it yet.

Thanks Piet, having only seen one I thought the slurry would always be tinted brown. It does bear a striking resemblance to one of many types of Israeli Covenant stone as Neil suggests, however those are relatively newly quarried. This looks to be older, and for that reason and your experience of Schwedensteins having whitish slurry also, I don't believe there is anything else it could be.
