    Default New hones

Received my naniwa 1k and DMT 325 from SRD yesterday. I lapped the 1k and going to give it a test drive tonight. I am excited! Have several razor just begging for a good edge.

Just because it's sharp, does not mean it's smooth.

This is a good start, but you will need something much finer before you can shave.

I also have a coticule for finishing. Used the nani to set a bevel on an old razor last night....man that stone is awesome! Soft responsive, and cuts like a dream.

especially with the coti, your gonna have fun learning that stone, but very good choice of progression IMO. after the naniwa you could probably start with a semi skimmed milk slurry and dilute from there on your coti, finish on water for a silky soft edge
