    Default Help me identify the stone.

    Good day to all forum users. Help me identify this stone.Stone went by inheritance from his grandfather, who soldier after World War II in 1945 brought it from Germany.Grandfather all his life sharpening his razor on it ..If you were already on the forum such as stones, poke his nose, which can be readRegards Andrew.

    looks like yellow green thuringian if the white balance of the pic is correct.

    I agree with Mainaman. If you look under the green insert you probably find white or pink label proving it.

    It may be a thuringian, what color is the slurry? Is it hard or soft?

    Do I understand you correctly,a water stone.Stone soft enough,the suspension is formed quickly.I tried to sharpen a knife-стальvg-10,nothing came of it.

    this is a very fine finishing stone for razors, now going to sharpen your knife at all.
    Again I am 100% this is a thuringian ,especially since it was acquired from Germany.

    It is undoubtedly a Yellow Green Thuringian, with some nice striations which are less than often present. In my opinion these are among the best finishing stones for razors.
