Hi,
The only stone I am aware of from Sweden is the Gotland stone. It is whitish/greyish, and I don't believe it is all that fine. But perhaps someone with more experience with them will respond.
regards,
Torolf

There is a stone named Schwedenstein, very small dimensions and very thin almost always, but I think it's from Germany. Is this the one you are talking about? There is also the famous hone that Vikings used for sharpening their blades, but it's extinct. If you can, please share some photos with us.

I've heard about Gotland stones but i think they are not that fine. There's another stone from Finland, wästikivi, but that is suitable for knives, axes etc. It is about 600 - 1000 grit.

The wastilla stone is not suitable for razors indeed, although the last years deeper in the same quarry site they found hones around 4k grit with the same composition. Well this is what they told me anyway. The Gothland stone, is a jasper glass stone like the jade hones. I would think that they are fine enough for razor, but not for finishing it.

I know. In Sweden there is no slate. So Germany or France. maybe view Vosges. I'll buy it. it costs $ 40, I will send pictures
