TY... i will stick with the 1K route. seems easier. if i do a 325. Alrdy its at 5/8...and stainless steel. I dont have time or patience to deal w/ that. Probly just take the scales n blade would have been a total loss to me. Not gonna take that route.

What, are you two feet tall? how did you cut their shin? I don't want to see on the news that there is a hobbit running around assaulting people with st8ts..... You will give us a bad name.

another prospective to look at::: movie Pearl Harbor i think they also use SR to cut clothing in the carnage scene. But I used it on someone's jeans. The person was layin down...and well was bleeding. On the "happy note" not a designer jeans. Wrangler (why i say that as Diesel denim ranges 195-380 usd). Then it would be break even.
    SR was around 280.

Thanks again for the 4K advice...its stainless steel i think mite take more than just 10 mins but will get it done. =D
Hobbit are fun I like more of the dragon riders =D (Chapel joke "come on brother you can let us in on the brotherly love part 4" LOLLL)...only reason i keep LOTR away on boys nite and def GO OUT...LOL

OK! Straight razors as utility knives. They work really well for a very short period of time. I have some vintage blades that have problems preventing their use on a face that I have honed out and use around the shop to cut things like paper, packing tape, bubble wrap, and even leather. They don't get used on skin. Use your Dovo if you like but you will have problems with it afterwards when face shaving. I recommend expensive, new straight razors for face only but do what you like as it's your razor. How'd the jeans come out?

From the OP's post, It sounds like the cutting of jeans was an emergency situation (at least I hope it was) I'm no honer so if it was me id be sending it off to lynn or GGsixgun to be honed professionally.... but thats just me
