But of course my good man. Oh I wanted to be more clear about this, b/c when I was trying to learn the TNT "grabbing" was kind of vague in the descriptions. The blade will grab and not "sink in", it will grab and not want to move and you will feel it generating some friction across your nail when it does begin to move...but, FOR THE LOVE OF HOLY TAP DANCING JESUS, do not try to pull the blade to get it moving again (what i mean is some parts maybe sharper than others, so let us say closer to the heel may grab a bit then slide a little then the center of the blade may grab, and not want to move at all;the center is sharper than the heel that is where you don't want to force it to move), I just lift the blade up, re-wet the nail, get as close to that spot again as I can, then continue the test. Keeping that nail wet at all times is a MUST. Play with it, and with practice you will be able to tell what's going on with your bevel the second you pull that blade over the nail. Cheers!

Mastering implies there is nothing more for you to learn of something... I prefer proficient enough to not totally screw it up.

    Haha, nice turn of phrase!
Thanks again, you read my thoughts.
By the way, I only glanced at your location before and thought it was Oxford, England. Looks like Alabama might be nearer the mark? With a Birmingham to the west and another Oxford in Mississippi, seems like quite a few from the old country pitched in the area.
As a slight tangent, but linked to your last warning:
Since my (17yo) daughter has started cutting my hair, as an opportunity to pocket a few quid whilst having a chat, I have introduced her to the world of straight razors and she uses mine to tidy the border of my hair at the back.
She’s taken to it really well, after just a token face-pulling to start with and has done a great job, thus far.
    She’s a big fan of Johnny Depp & Helena Bonham-Carter, you see…Uh-Oh…!
I’m pleased (alright, delighted to still be alive) that she has taken on board my explanation that she should not under any circumstances try and bully the blade, if she meets any kind of resistance on my skin.
Not that I have any spines, fins or suchlike on the back of my neck, as far as I know; but I thought it was worth mentioning to her, as it’s not a part of my body I’m so familiar with.
She has a well controlled, light touch and seems to be quite proud having taken to it.
I’m quite proud for her too, that she is learning something which very few of todays teenagers will ever have in their frame of reference.
I should mention that it has heightened my sensitivity to her moods, especially when I’m about to request a trim.
Won’t be long before she figures out why I’m so compliant & complimentary on haircut days!
