Lining up the ladies before I took em to the stones
Took em all to the Naniwas last night. Set the bevels with the 1K and progressed through the set all the way to the 12K. Glens tutorial was uber helpfull. I used the slurry from each stone I made when lapping with my DMT. I got a BBS with the C-Mon today and wil try either the Easy Aces or the Temprite next. My beard does not grow fast enough! Im considering a Jnat but thats a major purchase. Any suggestions on finishers past the 12K are welcome. Thanks guys.

Those are fine looking blades! If you got a BBS comfortable shave with the C-Mon off of the 12K why bother with another finisher? Just a thought.

The %ge improvement you would get with a Jnat after 12k is in the low single digits. It's very nice but you are not disadvantaged at all using a 12k as a finisher.
If you have sensitive skin it could appear as a major improvement but my perception is that it is minimal. A pasted felt strop makes a small but tangible difference also but it does so at little costThe white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Thanked: 199I put a little CrOx on my PHIG with water and I'll tell ya, it dramatically improved the edge on my Iwasaki! Never used a Jnat, but I'm very pleased!

Thanked: 993There are other finishers you can try if you really want to. Your Naniwa 12k is a nice one though.
I have an Escher (which I love), and a Charnely Forest (which I love).
Lately, I've been getting really superb edges from my Charnley.

Thanked: 1I'd suggest you send one of those beauties out to a honemeister with similar stones before you spend 2-3-400 bucks on a jnat.. Wait and see how they feel then.. All I have at the moment is a chinese 12k, a shapleigh daimond barber hone and a certifyd clydesdale shell strop..that alone gets me popping hanging hairs off the razors not to mention my forearms...i nearly went to war with a fellow srp member over an escher last night. smh...n e ways..just my 2 cents..im thinking thats what ill do before i make a 2-300 dollar purchase...
