That SRD (Drosescher) box means it is the real thing. They were a big supplier back then. Pure speculation but I am thinking that stone must have been made, based on the scarce label, at the tail end of JG Escher & Sohn's existence. Could be wrong though, I was wrong once before.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I have a Hohenzollern with a similar label with a castle. It is probably even finer than Y/G Escher.

Thanked: 15the little escher arrived today and the quality of the grey green stone is obvious. It has never been beveled on the edges and appears unused. I'm as convinced as I can be that it is genuine. I will try it out on a new Friodur I got off the bay (for $90) this weekend. My ebay finds are going well this month! the friodur appears unused as well, with a factory bevel and no hone wear, a real beauty from a japanese dealer. Add that to the nice cold steel tai pan and mini tanto I got and it's quite a haul, though I've spent too much LOL.

Congratulations, the label on the stone looked to be suspicious for a vintage stone.
