That Friodur is slightly under 13/16 so not a 7/8, but it doesn't matter, it will be awesome :)

You're right; I re measured on a more exact ruler and it is 13/16
I want to use the escher, so I will need to seal the label. Should I use shellac or polyurethane? What's the best sealer for a label?
I don't seal labels. Don't spill any water :) Problem with sealing is that as soon as some water gets below the sealant you're in trouble.
On end labels, because they are so small, I use clear nail polish. On back labels, because they are so large, I use Krylon "Preserve It". It is a spray meant for archival documents. I don't know if it is the best thing but it is the best that I have found. It seems to protect the label from water damage while it isn't thick like polyurethane. So far I've had no problems with water seeping under the back labels. YMMV.
I have used nail polish on the back label with no problems.
