    Default cant read entire label

I have an old stone that was in my grandfathers house. The stone is set in a wood block and there is a label on the side of stone that I cannot conpletely read. The last 8 letters of what i think are 11 letters are BORUNDUM. Does anyone have a clue to what this stone is?

Does the word 'Carborundum' ring a bell? It was the name of both a material and a few synthetic hones.

I took it outside and under a magnifying glass I think that must be what it says. Thanks for the tip. Is sutch a stone more suited for tool sharpening?
