Looks to me like they could cause damage to the blade . I wouldn't use it on my razors .
Greetings , from Dundalk , Maryland . The place where normal people , fear to go .

some think they realine the edge. but take any two circles that are tangent to each other and any angle that is greater then 0 degress (razors being about 16 degrees, and you will find the faces of the angle will contact the circles away from the point at which they are tangent and the vertex of the angel contacts nothing. no action occurs at the edge. these devices do not work to my awareness, and cannot work to my reasoning. someone who has successfully used one is free to correct me however.

ezpz makes sense in that the only area that would come in contact would be the points where the bevel meets the grind, not the edge where the two sides of the bevel come together. Basically you would just round off your bevel not the actual cutting edge.

Funny. I saw the title of this thread and immediately thought "huh, a slab of marble might make a damn fine finishing hone--I wounder what the grit of a flat slab of marble would be?"

Instead, i got a load of phalli, balls and charlatans.

    I love this place.

This shape will actually burnish the edge to some degree giving you a pseudo sharpening effect.

I doubt as already mentioned you would benifit even the most mediocre hone job with one of these gismos.
