    Default Save stamp on stone

Hello everybody, I've bought this vintage coticule that was never used and have the original stamp on one surface, the stone is rough and I need lap it before use, but if I lap it, I loose the stamp.
There's a way to save this stamp ? I think no, but I've ask before do something wrong.

    Thank you for your suggestion.

Sorry to say but I don't think that's a Coticule, it looks synthetic.

Iīm sorry but Piet is right, this is a vintage german manmade stone, the grey side is coarse the yellow side is fine.
I do not know the grit of this stone but in my experience with similar stones it is not suited as a finisher for SR.
On the other hand I donīt think you have to care fot the stamp to much.

After your posts I have checked the stone and yes isn't a coticule. No bad, I can use it for knife sharpening.

    Many thanks for your help.
